Redeem Public Safety
Jul 26
Public safety has been an increasingly pressing issue in Washington, and to ensure the safety of our communities, it’s crucial to have adequate funding and training to fortify our law enforcement. But it doesn't stop there. We must also address the root causes such as poverty and education. According to a study by a public university, a 1% rise in poverty leads to a 2.16% rise in crime. This statistic underscores the importance of not just providing resources for basic needs but also creating opportunities for individuals to contribute meaningfully to their communities. We need to invest in mental health treatments and drug rehabilitation programs, as these services are essential for reducing the cycles of crime and despair.
